Jet Set: Barbados
- X
If the Barbados leg of Jet Set made you want to see the island for yourself, this bookable week-long, all-inclusive itinerary is your way in. It gives you a resort on the west coast, a private ride from the airport, and an island full of beaches, caves, gardens, and food to explore. The link below opens the full trip, where you can change, edit, or lengthen any part of it.
A Week on the West Coast
Barbados is a Caribbean island, and its west coast is the calm side, with gentle water and easy beaches. A private taxi meets you at Grantley Adams International Airport and takes you to Waves Resort and Spa Barbados, an Autograph Collection all-inclusive resort. You stay seven nights, so you arrive, settle in, and spend the week deciding how much to do and how much to simply enjoy.
Bridgetown and the Garrison
The itinerary includes a free day with suggestions for how to spend it, and Bridgetown is a natural place to start. The capital has lively streets, including Broad Street for browsing and Cheapside Market for local produce and everyday island life. St. Michael’s Cathedral and the Barbados Museum and Historical Society add history, and the Garrison Historic Area gives you a look at the island’s colonial past. It is an easy, walkable day with plenty of variety.
Beaches, Caves, and Gardens
Barbados rewards a rental car or a driver, and the itinerary points you toward its highlights. Crane Beach and Bathsheba Beach sit on the island’s rugged side, where the surf is a spectacle in its own right. Harrison’s Cave takes you underground into a limestone cavern, a cool change from the heat outside.
For a quieter day, head inland to St. Nicholas Abbey, Andromeda Botanic Gardens, Scotland District Nature Reserve, and Farley Hill National Park. These add historic buildings, gardens, and green hillsides to a trip that might otherwise be all beach.
Oistins and an Island Evening
Back on the coast, Rockley Beach is an easy place for a swim and a stroll. The evening to plan around is Oistins Fish Fry, a food and music gathering where grilled fish, rum punch, and a crowd make for a lively night out. Go hungry.
For a dressed-up night, add dinner at The Cliff, the restaurant Richard visited on his leg of the episode. It is a good way to balance a week of casual beach days with one memorable meal.
