Romantic London

In London, an array of mythical monuments are waiting for you and your loved one! Let the city unfold before your eyes during a lunch cruise on the Thames. The city is full of small cafes, cozy bars and majestic gardens. Take the time to stroll through Notting Hill! Say it with flowers, words or... graffiti! At the Leake Street Tunnel, you can tag your loved one on the walls. (Yes, yes, legally, we reassure you!) Finally, get some height by reaching the Shard, the tallest skyscraper in Europe, from where you can contemplate the city for a long time, all with a glass of champagne in hand.

In the episode, Gill takes on London in a helicopter-versus-tuk-tuk face-off with Bangkok, and she stays in a hotel with a bird’s-eye view of St Paul’s Cathedral. This trip explores the same city, built around the South Bank, the Thames, and Madame Tussauds. The link at the end opens the full trip, and you can change any part of it.

The South Bank and the London Eye

London is England’s capital, a big city with the Thames running through its middle. The itinerary makes it easy to arrive. A private car meets you at London Heathrow Airport and takes you to the Hilton London Metropole, your base for four nights.

Day 2 is built around the London Eye, the giant observation wheel on the South Bank. Your tickets are skip-the-line, so you spend your time on the wheel instead of in the queue. From the top, the views take in Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey, which is a good way to learn the skyline before you walk it.

Lunch on the Thames

Day 3 puts you on the river. Lunch on the Thames runs 1 hour 45 minutes, so you can sit down to a meal while the city goes by from the water. Lunch is included but drinks are not, so plan to order your own.

The itinerary also points you to Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, and Piccadilly Circus, so you can fill the rest of the day on foot. It is an easy way to see London’s well-known places without a fixed schedule.

Madame Tussauds

Day 4 is the playful one. Madame Tussauds is London’s wax museum, where lifelike figures of famous people stand close enough for a photo. Your skip-the-line entrance tickets keep the visit moving. Inside, the Star Wars hall puts you among characters from the films, and the Marvel Superheroes 4D Experience adds motion and effects to a story from the comics. It is a good fit for fans, families, or anyone who wants a lighter day after the river and the sightseeing.

Add the Episode’s Highlights

Gill’s hotel looked out over St Paul’s Cathedral, and you can take in the same dome in a few ways. The London Eye gives you a look from above, and you can add a visit to the cathedral itself if you want to see it up close. Either one fits into the free time around your tours.

You’ll definitely recognize St Paul’s Cathedral in London from the outside, but you’ll really miss out if you don’t step inside to enjoy its spectacular interior.
