Journey Within: Ireland
- X
In the Journey Within episode, Marilia Moreno meets Irish land enthusiasts, shares vegan food at Dublin's Cornucopia and watches the sun set behind the Wicklow Mountains. This itinerary follows the same thread of land and community but heads west, looping from Dublin through the Burren, Galway and Connemara. The link below opens the full trip, and every part of it can be customized.
Dublin at Both Ends
The loop starts and ends in Dublin. You begin with the Guinness Storehouse and a stay at the Grand Canal Hotel, and you finish with a final night at the Sandymount Hotel. Cornucopia, the vegan restaurant from the episode, fits easily into a Dublin evening.
Limestone and Music
From Dublin, you head west to the Burren for an eight-hour guided tour of the Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding limestone country. The tour stops at the ancient Poulnabrone dolmen, and the Burren's limestone pavement looks more lunar than green.
Galway comes next, by way of Aughnanure Castle and the Quiet Man Bridge. The itinerary describes it as the most Irish place in Ireland, with traditional music in the pubs and a slower pace on the streets. A night here gives you time for both.

Quay Street in Galway, the liveliest corner of the west.
Into Connemara
The road then turns toward Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey, where you can walk the abbey's walled gardens. You stay the night at Renvyle House. The drive passes through Lisdoonvarna and along Lough Ree, so there is plenty to look at between stops.

Kylemore Abbey and its gardens, the centerpiece of the Connemara day.
From Connemara, the route returns east to Dublin for the flight home. The itinerary books as a single trip through the link below. You can add a night in Galway, spend more time in Connemara or keep the loop as it is.
